The World Economic Forum recently featured Tata Steel in it’s Reimagining Operations for Growth white paper, for the application of predictive analytics in procurement of coking coal. Tata’s “agile buying strategy” leveraged Quantum Data Technologies’ core product, Quantum ML, to mitigate market risk and reduce commodity acquisition costs.

From the white paper:

Global disruptions and instabilities impose a pressing need and opportunity for quantitative and qualitative growth amid shifts in supply, demand and increasing market complexity. This is a time of unparalleled industry transformation; the future belongs to those companies willing to embrace disruption and capture new opportunities. Ever more manufacturing companies are showing that it is possible to unlock unprecedented capacity, realize entirely new revenue streams and gain market share.

Closing Thoughts

Digital innovation is no longer optional, and at QDT we strive to push the boundaries of what’s possible with machine learning and artificial intelligence to improve your business processes and outcomes. The technology can be applied to other commodities and also other end-users like traders, exchanges or brokerage institutions who manage risk and interact with markets in similar ways.

Additionally, this application of Quantum ML for Tata has been entered into Tata’s internal business unit competition (of over 300 subsidiaries), Innovista. The outcome of that competition is to be announced soon!
